10 DF restaurants with dishes to share on Mother’s Day

After an out of season Carnival and one step away from the June festivals, Brazilians gather next Sunday (5/8) to celebrate Mother’s Day. The date is full of love and meanings for those who have a mother present or keep in memory those who are gone. But also for those who are mothers and have one or more reasons to live.

Anyway, it’s a day to celebrate and gather good feelings, and nothing better than doing it around the table. To help those who have not yet programmed for the date, the metropolises separated 10 restaurants with dishes to share that will cater for small and large families. Check out!


Dom Manju

The house, which recently opened a unit in Ceilândia, created an exclusive recipe for Mother’s Day. Only on Sunday (5/8), diners will be able to taste the Angus rib rice (R$ 99.90 for two people), which includes coalho cheese and vegetables. But the seafood-focused restaurant also offers recipes such as the traditional shrimp bobó (R$69.90 for two people; R$139.90 for four), served with white rice and homemade crispy farofa; and seafood paella (R$99.90 for two people; R$179.90 for four).

Five Sport Bar

If mom is a sports lover, Five is a good option to celebrate her day. On the house menu is the Família Grael (R$ 179.90 for four people), which honors sailors with the combination of grilled tilapia with shrimp, capers, mushrooms and green grapes. The recipe is accompanied by rice with broccoli and mashed potatoes.

Those who prefer red meat can try the Família Minotauro (R$ 249.90): grilled filet mignon drizzled with wood sauce and mushrooms, which have the same accompaniment.


With units in Taguatinga and Águas Claras, the house will work with a reduced menu focused on family-sized dishes on Sunday (5/8). Among the options is the flagship of the house: sun-dried beef steak (R$ 229.90 for three people; R$ 289.90 for five). The protein is accompanied by parrillero rice, tropeiro beans, fries, meat paçoca, breaded banana, vinaigrette and Sertão butter. Another option is Ancho (R$229.90 for three people; R$289.90 for five), which also has the same side dishes.


Those who like traditional Northeastern food can opt for one of Mangai’s recipes. Among the options is the Camarão Mar e Sol (R$109 for two people; R$175 for four), which has creamy rice with cream, coalho cheese, shrimp and shredded sun-dried meat, all au gratin with coalho cheese. The house also has the fish moqueca (R$ 184) served with white rice, mush and farofa made with butter from the land with palm oil.

Those who like a starter, or want to add other side dishes to the dish, can bet on the house plates. On the menu is the sun-dried meat plate (R$119), fried cassava, coalho cheese and farofa; and the sun-dried shrimp (R$ 149), combined with fried cassava, coalho cheese, onion and farofa.

The space with a menu signed by former Masterchef Nayane Barreto offers options for those who will celebrate Mother’s Day in Sobradinho and region. Small families can enjoy Ancho Angus (R$144 with 400g and two side dishes) and choose sides, which include roasted vegetables, tropeiro beans, vinaigrette and potato mayonnaise.

Those who want variety can combine family dishes, which serve two people. The list includes the shredded termite and bacon escondidinho (R$95), accompanied by white rice with fried garlic and salad; and the filet mignon parmigiana (R$118), which is also served with fries.

Olinda Northeast Food

In terms of regional food, the house offers full sun meat (R$127 for two people; R$158 for four). The protein is served with traditional side dishes: white rice, black-eyed peas, meat paçoca, vinaigrette, parsley and bottled butter. In addition, mothers choose between boiled or fried cassava or potato chips.

Mothers who enjoy barbecue and special cuts can bet on Pobre Juan for Sunday lunch. Among the meats of the house are Porterhouse (R$284 for four people) and Tomahawk (R$349 for four people), which can be combined with different side dishes, such as the classic soufflé porridge (R$34). But the list also includes grilled vegetables (R$34), egg farofa (R$33) and manioc puree (R$37).


The houses Santé 13 and Santé Lago have family-sized combinations of meats and side dishes, which serve up to three people. Among the orders are the chorizo ​​(R$240 with 750g), the roasted Duroc pork strips (R$134 with 750g) and the Duroc pork rump steak (R$120 with 750g). To accompany, customers can choose up to four garnishes between biro-biro, white or broccoli rice; mix of leaves or medium Juliana salad, potato stick or rustic and egg, banana or garlic farofa.

Savassi Carne de Sol

Those who like regional Northeastern food can take a chance with Cangaço Completo (R$169 for four people), which serves sun-dried meat, backwoods cheese, creamy baiao de dois, meat paçoca, fried manioc and green smell. Another option is Pescaria Savassi (R$180 for four people), made with breaded tilapia, shrimp in garlic and oil, rice with broccoli, boiled vegetables and mashed potatoes.

The menu also includes tambaqui without bones (R$ 139 for four people), served with rice, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes and house salad. To close the tips, caipira chicken (R$ 199 for four people). The recipe is accompanied by rice, bean tutu, polenta and braised okra.

Chef Marco Espinoza created two special recipes for the date. On the 6th, 7th and 8th of May, diners will be able to try the grilled picanha with chimichurri, Grana Padano cheese and mustard sauce served with potatoes, onions and spinach. The other request for Mother’s Day is the curry shrimp served with wok rice. Both recipes serve two people and cost R$ 190 each.
