In order to reach the goal set by the Ministry of Health of immunizing 90% of the target audience National Vaccination Campaign against Influenza, the virus that causes influenza, the Municipal Health Department (SMS) is once again increasing the number of vaccination posts for priority groups. The campaign against measles, which is specific to children and health professionals, is also being carried out.
From this Monday (09), vaccination takes place from 9 am to 15 pm. In all, there are 35 vaccination posts, whose service was distributed by priority group. Guarus Plaza Shopping is no longer a reference for flu and measles vaccination. The target audience of the place was transferred to the Guarus Health Center.
Started on April 4, immunization against the flu already adds up to 25,733 doses applied until May 6. The measles vaccine, on the other hand, totals 4,523 doses applied. Adding up all the priority groups, there are about 176,000 people to be vaccinated against the flu at this stage of the campaign.
The trivalent Influenza vaccine, offered free of charge by the Unified Health System (SUS) this year, is effective against strains type B, H1N1 and H3N2, resonated by the flu outbreak last year.
It is worth noting that both vaccines, both the flu and measles vaccines, can be given on the same day. Simultaneous vaccination is an activity recommended by the National Immunization Program of the Ministry of Health.
