These are the best airports in the world in 2022

Two years have passed practically deserted, empty of passengers and with hardly any air traffic, however, we face the summer with totally different perspectives. And it is that the activity of the airports and, especially, that registered by international facilities, are a clear photograph that illustrates the current situation. We travel again and, how could it be otherwise, they will once again be the scene of the busy coming and going of travellers.

For that reason, the publication this week of the World Airport Awards, the awards given each year by Skytrax, the portal specializing in air transport, acquire a special interest. In announcing the winners, Edward Plaisted, CEO of the company, highlighted “the extremely difficult times they have gone through in having to face the numerous restrictions and the severe drop in travel demand.”

Known as the Oscar of aviation, the most prestigious awards in the sector are the result of an extensive global survey of customer satisfaction carried out in more than 550 aerodromes around the world. This makes the list a point of reference for quality at the moment, since airport services have been evaluated in the survey, ranging from the design of the terminal, to the attention of the staff, arrivals and departures, the offer of purchases, the security or comfort, among others.

The remaining three are located in Europe. Two Spanish airports have sneaked into the top 25 on the planet in 2022: Madrid, in position 16, and Barcelona, in position 23, advancing positions compared to last year, which occupied places 20 and 39, respectively.
