World Fest: The festival that lets you taste the best food recipes from various countries is back in Lisbon – Atualidade

What is the purpose of this festival?

The World Fest will take place on the 21st of May, as a way of marking the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. With this festival we aim to create and share experiences and stories in the first person, promoting interaction, tolerance and dialogue between cultures, in the heart of Lisbon.

We believe that diversity is one of the key ingredients to being a market leader in digital integration business services and a reference employer in Portugal. Our work is made at the intersection between technology and human experience, where every interaction counts.

For that reason we are always looking for new talents to join our teams, from all over the world. It is this diversity that we welcome and celebrate at this World Fest.

With this event, we want to highlight this commitment to our people and our community, celebrating the diversity present in the Teleperformance Portugal team.

In relation to previous editions, what are your expectations?

In previous editions, the festival was focused, almost exclusively, on the world of gastronomy. This year’s edition has several workshops, a moment dedicated to children, a space for sharing knowledge, musical moments, and many other activities. As such, we believe that we will have a good turnout, from residents of the city but also from anyone looking for activities while visiting Lisbon.

What will we be able to find at this festival? It is free?

The program focuses on workshops open to all ages, focused on arts such as calligraphy or weaving through modern projects with impact on the community. We will also have a workshop in partnership with the Ukrainian community, entitled “Coroas de Amor”, teaching how to make the traditional wreaths that represent the culture of this country so well.

To promote dialogue and awareness, Teleperformance includes the “Speaker’s Corner” in its programming, a space dedicated to those who give voice to important issues in society, where it is intended to launch topics for discussion or simply share concepts that touch the audience. In addition, for the most technology-oriented people, it will be possible to enjoy a virtual reality experience, inspired by Teleperformance as a “great place to work”, a recognition with which the company has been distinguished over the last 10 years. .

The experiences don’t stop there. There will also be space for music and dancing, and closing the day will be a DJ, promising a rhythm-filled closing to the sound of House music.

At World Fest it will also be possible to find some gastronomic proposals that will take those who visit it to “travel” around the world. Argentina, the Netherlands, Thailand, Germany, Italy, among many other origins (including vegan options) promise to bring the perfect combination of flavors and cultural traditions from each country to the Lisbon city.

And yes, entry is free!

How many visitors are expected?

We have high expectations that we will reach a few thousand visitors. Although Tourism is still at lower values when compared to years before the pandemic, we believe it will be a good program for the weekend ahead.

Last year, Ana Sanches assumed the new role of VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. What are your challenges within Teleperformance?

When Teleperformance Portugal gave me this challenge, I believed it was a unique opportunity to contribute to expanding diversity as a competitive advantage for the company and ensuring that we are moving towards a more inclusive culture. It has been a journey both locally and globally, as the Teleperformance Group is fully committed to implementing its Diversity and Inclusion strategy worldwide, joining efforts between the various countries where Teleperformance is present, whenever possible.

It is a process that has required a joint effort, which implies a lot of awareness, responsibility and commitment, especially on the part of our leadership, which I believe will make us a stronger, more creative and innovative company.

This is a topic that does not work with flashy initiatives, but with those that change our DNA from the inside out – in the way we recruit, how we communicate, how we work as a team, how we prepare and empower our people, how we value differences, we work on well-being and allow greater flexibility to different populations. All small steps count.

This is a path of imperfection where with each passing day we revisit our choices, assuming that there is always room for improvement, something that is very present in the company’s culture, evolving our way of acting. This is how, step by step, we make a difference in the lives of our people, doing things differently.
